My Story

B82B2645_edited_edited.jpg

I’ve been and lived all over- I was raised in Florida, then called the Carolina’s my home for the next 20+ years. For the last 20 years, I’ve called Texas home. The awesome people in the picture are my husband, our two daughters, and our son and daughter-in-law. Those 5 people are by far the best of my story. Over the course of my life I have been a competitive athlete, corporate salesperson, middle school fitness teacher, waitress, and full-time Mom. I have been a fitness instructor to some degree since my college days, devoting more time to helping people be healthier and fit as my “Mom Job” required less time. Leading Group Fitness classes has always been my first love as I have led classes in Strength and Cardio, Indoor Cycling, Senior Fitness, Pilates, Yoga as well as special populations including Parkinson’s Disease. Over the years, I have expanded my knowledge and experience to include Ace Health and Wellness Coach, NASM Personal Trainer with additional specializations for Golf Fitness, Behavior Change Guidance as well as Corrective Exercise Programming.

Many personally significant life events have shaped me as I am sure those types of events have shaped you as a person. None have influenced me more than my medical challenges beginning in 2018. Thankfully none were life threatening, but the injuries and repairs did seriously threaten my ability to lead the life and do the work I love. Within 18 months, I had 3 major orthopedic surgeries, all requiring months of healing and rehab and leaving me significantly sedentary for a long time. This left me with permanent structural changes to my body including a spinal fusion, a calcaneal (heel joint) fusion and a compromised hip joint.  Between great medical care, hard and smart work on my part, prayer and support from people, I’m so happy to lead an active lifestyle and continue the work I love. These experiences renewed compassion for and a desire to help those who suffer physically as well as emotionally with chronic and short-term health issues-- issues that affect their pain levels, recovery, mobility, and lifestyle choices. It has also reinforced my commitment to help people be healthy and fit, as well as feel and function well.

BTW: I like to cook, hang out on the boat, hike, nap, attempt to craft and sew, drink coffee, hangout with friends and yes, lead a physically active life. Let's connect!
